Weekly Winners

Sunflower
I found these sunflowers on sale at Publix last week. I thought they were SO PRETTY, that I got two and put them at my front door.

In the studio
My husband did a session in a studio this week. (See my blog post written this past Wednesday all about it!) So I was a kid in the candy store taking pictures.

In the studio
Hubby on the piano... in you look in the middle of the picture, you can see the guy he did the session for recording acoustic guitar parts.

Mason ring on piano keys
My husband takes his Masons Ring off to play because its too top heavy and can mess up his playing. So I took it and had some fun. I thought I got a cool shot that just screamed my husband... his ring on the piano keys.

Retro Camera :: Wurlitzer
They oughtta give me the Wurlitzer Prize... Loved this Wurlitzer piano that was in the studio. And, yes, that is my husband reflected back. *Taken with Retro Camera*

Retro Camera :: B3
My husband should be proud... he has totally turned me into a B3 Lover. Let that Hammond B3 Organ SING... Love it. *Taken with Retro Camera*

Retro Camera :: Piano Keys
Pretty self explainatory, I think. LOL *Taken with Retro Camera*

Retro Camera :: Books
I took this photo SPECIFICALLY for a blog post -- used it in said blog post -- but its a favorite photo for me. So I had to include it here, too. *Taken using Retro Camera*

Half-staff
Flags at half-staff in honor of 9/11.

  1. Those photos are all really cool – they really tell a story! I love the one of the piano with the reflection of your husband. Nice job!

    BTW that bowling alley is in Arlington, TX. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

    1. Thanks so much!!

      I am SO going to have to tell my brother about that… they go up to DFW quite often and it could be something for them to do. I want to check it out so bad next time I am through there. SO cool.

  2. I love the sunflowers! They’re always so happy looking :)

    I also love the shot of the flag at half-staff. Such a poignant picture.

    1. Thanks so very much! Those flowers make me smile every day! And I thought the flags were a nice gesture for the weekend… it kept catching my eye and I had to get that shot.

  3. I love the mason ring on the keyboard. Starting out I really thought that sunflower picture would be my favorite – but every shot in studio was amazing!!! Wonderful series.

  4. i love all the different pianos and the different angles and styles and such you used for each to make them unique.

  5. I have two favorites; first is the Wurtlizer Electric Piano and the Flags. Great job on all of them.

    1. Glass Castle REALLY shook my perception of things. At the time I read that book, I would deal with homeless atleast once a week. I could feel my approach and opinion change dramatically after reading it. Both in a positive manner as well as in a slightly negative manner — Neither of which necessarily for the bad. I recommend it as a favorite read to anyone looking for something new.

      And thank you!
