#DrinkUpLinkUp — Woodchuck Raspberry Cider

I consider myself something of a beer snob. I know bigger beer snobs, but I also know a lot of people who think there is nothing better in this world than Pabst Blue Ribbon. (C’mon… they supposedly got their blue ribbon back in 1893. We’ve come a long way since then.) But I have to admit, I have a serious love for hard cider.

The other night, my husband and I decided to use a gift card we got at Christmas and go to The Flying Saucer. I decided on a whim to stick to cider for the night. I tried both Woodchuck Raspberry and Woodchuck Pear. For this entry, I’ll focus on the Raspberry. Why?

 Woodchuck Raspberry

Because I now have a new favorite cider.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I like all the other ciders, but this one just hit my palate beautifully. I happen to love raspberry anyway, and I regularly will go with Raspberry vodka in Sprite if I am feeling like a mixed drink. So its not a stretch for me to love this cider.

It’s a cider, so its sweet with a slight tartness, but it ends with the strong raspberry finish. So. Very. Yum. Glad I can’t seem to find it in stores around here, or I’d be in trouble. Deliciousness!

The pear was good, by the way, but definitely more tart. And it wasn’t raspberry. So there.

Do you like cider? What’s your favorite?

  1. I definitely want to try this one. Remember all of those Bacardi Raspberry drinks we had in college? LOL I like the hard ciders, too, but I’m not a very big fan of the Woodchuck Pear (too tart for my palate). My favorite hard cider is Angry Orchard. I’ve had Woodchuck Amber and Crispin ciders, and they’re good, but not as tasty. :)

  2. My favorite cider hands down right now is Ace’s Perry Hard Cider (Pear)! Soooo, good to me! Prefer it cold, and I’d happily drink it on cold or warm days. Sweet with that tartness I crave! Ace comes in these other flavors, but I have yet to find them and try them: Apple Hard Cider, Apple-Honey Cider, Berry Cider, Hard Pumpkin Cider, and Joker Hard Cider. If you need a trip to San Marcos while you’re down, James and I would be happy to take you to the Tap Room here. ;)
