Focus and refocus

Last week was a busy one, and it kept me from blogging. However, part of being busy was the fact that I started a free online course about wedding photography. I’m only one week into the six-week course, but it’s already helped me immensely.

Do I want to be a wedding photographer? I have yet to answer that question. Weddings terrify me because there is zero re-do. But, I want to learn! And I want to feel better about them being in my wheelhouse.

More importantly, though, this class is making me a more confident photographer in general. Additionally, NaBloPoMo photo prompts have made me stretch my legs just taking pictures.

I’m a huge “capture life as its happening” photographer, but sometimes you have to make the image you want happen. It is this that I have the hardest time with… it is this that the class and NaBloPoMo are both teaching me to do better.

This blog has recently been taking a turn towards my photography, and I’m prepared for it to purposely go that direction. And that being said, I close with a few photos from two “events” I attended this last week. I went to see the Time Jumpers with my husband and a group of friends, and I participated in The Color Run.  Two pretty awesome bookends for the week, don’t you think?
