Crochet comfort

I have crazy talented friends. In music, in writing, in photography, in design, in life… everywhere I look I get to witness talents galore.

One of my friends, Anne, has opened her own Etsy shop, selling crocheted items. I have several of her creations, and I love them so much. Yesterday she gave me as an Anniversary gift one I’ve been literally lusting over since she opened her shop. I even pinned it on Pinterest!

Woodlands Blanket
Woodlands Blanket

Aren’t those colors gorgeous!?  I gave one to my cousin for her wedding, but I almost kept it for myself. I remember I kept petting it before I wrapped it going, “Want. Want. Love. Want.”

Now I have one! In fact I have it keeping my legs warm as I write this. Love it!

Let me show you the other things I have that she’s made:

Beanie cap
Beanie cap and Maroon scarf

I got the scarf first, and I wear it all the time. It’s my go-to scarf and it is SO WARM.  I can wear that trench coat or my light leather jacket INSTEAD OF my heavy letterman-style coat on cold nights if I have that scarf wrapped around my neck. And that beanie has kept me nice and warm on crazy cold Tennessee nights. (Crazy cold to me!) And darn it, its CUTE!

Summer scarf
Green Summer Scarf

Something a little different is my green summer scarf. It’s skinnier than the maroon scarf, and the light color is just perfect for spring! I love wearing it when temps are still just a LITTLE cool, but not cold. And I am guilty of being monochrome in my clothing choices. Black, grey and white are my go-to colors, but this little pop of color breaks it up in a really cute way.

Another friend recently used a blanket Anne made in her engagement photos. I thought it was a fantastic touch to make the photos more personal, and I am totally stealing the idea for future photoshoots. (Sorry, Kristy! But that was brilliant, so I am stealing! And as a sidebar, totally digging her photographer… Love their style of photography and will be taking notes as I prepare to shoot my first wedding later this year.)

What I love most is knowing these items are handmade. Anne takes pride in her work, and when you get something from her you know its done with love and that the quality is there. If you’re looking for a special crochet blanket, scarf, cap or just about anything else, give Anne a shout!

She didn’t ask me to share her work here or to promote her. I just love it so much that I wanted to.

Check out her shop. You’re going to love what you see. :)
