Weekly Winners (July 4 – 10)

All but the first three photos, I took today just to have more entries for this post! It wasn’t a bad week, but it certainly wasn’t great. My sick cat from last week didn’t make it. So, my photography interests weren’t very high this week. I’ll try for better next week.

For more weekly winners participants, go visit our lovely hostess, Lotus. Give everyone a little comment love!!

  1. Thanks for visiting my site! I love the lake pictures. The second one is just stunning! I don’t know if you got my response to your comment but you can change the color of the hydrangeas by changing the acidity of the soil. I don’t remember how you do it, but it was on a tag for a hydrangea plant at the store.

I’m sorry to hear about your cat. I know I’ll be devastated when my Kit dies.

    1. Oh how neat!! Thanks for the information! There’s probably something in potting soil or something… hmm… I’m going to have to research this!

Thanks so much for visiting! And thanks about Sully. He was such a good cat and a member of the family. I’m going to miss him!

  2. Your lake shots are stunning. I like how you captured the reflection on the lake in the second shot with the sunrays streaming out of the clouds… beautiful!

    1. Thanks so very much! I love photographing the lake… I was never a lake person until I moved to Nashville. Then Percy Priest seduced me. I think there was alcohol involved. hmmm… ;)

  3. You have beautiful hair.
I am SO sorry to hear about your cat. I have six and they are my precious babies. :-(

    1. Oh thanks so very much! My hair is kind of my one “appearance obsession” so that really means a lot.

And thank you… they ARE precious babies! I’ll miss him.

  4. The lake shots are amazing! I’m so sorry to hear about your cat :-(

  5. so sorry to hear about your cat! he and my cat were almost perfect look-a-likes. i love the lake shots, especially the third one with the blurred water

    1. Thanks so much… we have another cat hanging around with similar markings. I think they’re beautiful cats!! He was always so photogenic. I’ll live vicariously through you from here forward. :) Thanks again…

And thank you! That’s my favorite as well!

  6. Sorry to hear about your cat! Losses like that are never easy!

Your lake shots are amazing!! That third one is just perfect!! Great series!

    1. thank you so much… he was a member of the family! I have to admit, I used to half roll my eyes at people who got upset about losing a pet. But now… I take it back!! I understand now! :(

      And thank you!!

    1. Thank you!!

And thanks… He was a good cat. Our other cat’s really stepped up to try to fill the void, but there’s definitely someone missing around here.

  7. Aren’t you the brave one, taking your camera out on the lake like that! I’m glad you did, as the texture of the water is gorgeous!

    1. Haha! Thanks! I took a couple shots I didn’t post here where I dangled my camera over the edge… I had a death grip on it and the strap wrapped around my wrist twice. I was paranoid! But… I’m glad I did. Love those shots myself!

  8. I love your lake photos. My parents lived in Nashville for about 14 years. We spent many a day on Percy Priest Lake when we went to visit.

    1. Thank you! I love that lake… I never was a lake person until I moved here and was introduced to Percy Priest. There’s just something really cool about that lake. Wish I could spend more time out there!
