I’ve been MIA this week due to a full work schedule at night. I’m filling in for a friend on vacation this week in the hot dog stand at the bar where I also bartend. I’ve never done this many nights in a row down at the bar, and its equal parts exhilarating and exhausting. More the later, though, when you try to cram a full day in before a full night of work. (Add in that I am on antibiotics and you get one tired gal here!) But the extra money coming in is nice, and it feels good to help a friend.
Something has had to give, though, and unfortunately its been my writing. And until I can remedy that completely, I ask you this:
What do you like on YOUR hot dog?
I miss hot dogs- but I do sneak one every now and then at Portillo’s when I’m in Chicago. I love mine with everything (onions, relish, ketchup, mustard, pickle, & poppy seed bun) but sport peppers (aka jalepenos).

Oh my, that looks good. My best memory of the major hot dog goes back to the 8th grade at a birthday for the entire 8th grade class that included a hayride and the meal was at the family tank (oh, pond, depending on what part of the country you are from) where every fixing you could think of (at that time at least) was available. And I must admit I tried them on one hot dog. Yummy!! In fact all of this is making me hungry. Is it lunch time yet??
It’s a good thing I saw this after lunch, or I would have had to eat a slopping chili dog too. That looks delicious.

I blame my hot dog condiments on my Mom’s hot dog condiment choices because she sparked the idea. She used to always have ketchup, mayo, and sweet relish. Mine is mustard, mayo, and dill relish, and if I’m extra bad/good, I add some sliced cheese to the whole package! Add a side of Salt & Vinegar chips and I’m excellent!
A little late to this, but my favorite is mustard, cheese, and dill relish. :) And chili!
