An update of randomness

Taking a moment to say hello Blog world tonight.

I’ve been MIA in the blogging world for the last week due to it being the end of tax season. We’re almost there! It’s almost behind us! However, once I’d end my day at the office, the idea of being on the computer just wasn’t fun to me. I’d get online in the evening to post a photo of the day and chat with my husband, but otherwise? I just didn’t want to thinking about staring at a screen.

My sinuses have continued to be a thorn in my side. I no longer feel “sick” from it. It’s strictly allergies (I guess) that linger. I’m a fighter, though, and at this point I’m just fighting to avoid another infection.

I discovered a recipe for “Tomato Tea” as a natural remedy for sinus troubles. IT WORKS. I now drink a glass every night as a preventative. However, the infection I had a few weeks ago didn’t seem to want to fully leave, despite the use of antibiotics. The icky sick-feeling hung on and I felt run down by mid-afternoon every day. Two days with the “Tomato Tea” and the sick feeling left! While I still battle with sinus issues, its now due to allergies and not do to an infection.

Weather has definitely taken a focus these days. Between horrible tornadoes, and a drought in Texas that’s resulted in terrible wildfires, you never know what will happen next. Mama Nature is not a happy woman these days.

I am officially excited for Muster. Looks like we are on tap to once again exceed our number of attendees from last year. I am SUPER excited to see familiar faces and to make new friends at the same time. As soon as I finish this post, I have to get to work designing this years program, so I can send it to be printed Monday.

My niece has several softball games this last week. I got to go see her play and it was AMAZING the way they progressed each game. Better and better every time. This last game was WOW! If they keep improving like this every game? WATCH OUT! They’ll be unstoppable!

I’m heading back home to Nashville this week. I had planned to head out mid-afternoon on Tuesday, but my nephew has a band concert that night. So I’m pushing my departure time back a few hours so I can see him play first. It’ll be my first time to see him play in band… I’m SO excited for that.

Finally… the leopard print nail polish? It’s lasted well past its 10-day promise. I have to take it off in the next few days (it clashes terribly with my maroon heels for Muster, so I need to go to more neutral for that), but I do think they’d easily last another week. Color me impressed!!

Crunch time

You have until April 18th to file your tax return this year. YAY, right? I mean, it not only gives taxpayers an extra few days to file, it also gives tax preparers a few extra days to get the work out.

I am SO grateful for this fact as I work for my parents in their tax preparation business. (But, hey, if you bring your work in to us now… you’re still going to be put on extension at this point. We’re not miracle workers.) I’m pretty mentally drained by the end of the day with the work and the extra days DO take a liiiiiittle strain off us right now.

However, it added stress for me on another side.

I am once again Chairperson of my local Aggie Muster. Local meaning Nashville. I’m in Texas. Muster is April 21st.

Can you say mad dash home to be there and rested for Muster?

Good bye tax seasonI rely on the six days between April 15th and April 21st to do all my final Muster planning. This year? I don’t HAVE that. The 19th is my travel day home, and the 20th will be rest and double checking the check list I need to finish before then. During tax season. When my want to even open my laptop at the end of the day is at about a 2 on a scale of 1 – 10.

On top of THAT, Easter is the next weekend. Which means I won’t be having Easter with my brother’s family as we’ve done the last five years. Because it would be silly to go to Nashville and then turn around and come back to Texas two days later. So this will be my first Easter in Nashville.

On top of Muster.

On top of Tax Day.

Am I stressed out? Gettin’ there!

Am I going to pull it all off?  Without a doubt.

Will I drive other people crazy in the mean time?  Definitely. But it’ll all be worth it in the end.
