Photo booth fun

There is just something hilariously fun about a photo booth. Especially when friends are around…

and bless my husband for patiently letting me drag him into the madness…

Life’s too short* to not have fun.

* Yesterday the music community lost a beautiful soul in Race Godson. Cancer is an evil, horrible disease, but Race battled it with positivity and grace. I am sure he had his down and overwhelming moments, but to us he always had his gentle smile and a hug. Rest in peace, dear friend.

This picture…

I spent far longer than I care to admit trying to come up with a blog topic in which I could use the following picture.

I. Love. This. Photo.

I received this photo in an email from a Fiddle regular turned friend, Joy. I had completely forgotten she had taken it. And as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use it in a blog post. A picture this awesome? It deserves to be on the blog. Right?

But I just couldn’t come up with a topic in which it really fit. And then I decided, maybe I should just feature the photo. Yeah, that sounds good. I love this photo, because when I look at it I see so many things at once.

I see a very happy couple. I see my best friend and husband. I see the way he makes me smile. I see laughter. I see happiness.

I see love.

I see a strong partnership. I see two people who have gone through a lot together, and who will face a lot together in the future. I see two people with hopes and dreams.  I see two people who’ve already accomplished a lot.  I see success, and I see the wisdom learned from failures. I see two people who are each other’s biggest  fan.

I see we are in the bar that was such a huge part our life for as long as we have known each other. I see hours of hard work done as a total labor of love.  I see a photographer, blogger, and bartender. I see a musician, bus driver, and over-all hard worker. I see two future bar owners, and new homeowners. I see two people making a life side-by-side, hand-in-hand.

I see US.

Funny how a quick, in-passing photo can say so much.

I. Love. This. Photo.
